Shelly Meeusen5 StarJessyca was absolutely fantastic - we learned so much and our very very big dog is now a model citizen. She tailored her approach to what works for him, his temperament and motivation. His behavior is so very much improved and he is also a happier dog overall. Her training style leads with understanding each individual dog, then builds plans that will resonate with both the pup and the owner. My husband and I were blown away with the results. We highly, highly recommend!Saturday 28th October 2023
Cynthia Clouse5 StarWe’ve been working with Emily for a while now and are just thrilled with the results. She is so professional, knowledgeable and patient with us and our dog. We came to Emily with an aggressive dog who had issues with people and dogs. We put it off way too long. We are so happy we found Finest City Dog Training and Emily. We couldn’t be more happy!Saturday 11th November 2023
Amanda Plocinski5 StarI reached out to Jessica in July 2023 because I was at my wits end with the reactivity of my 3-year-old Weimaraner. While fine with people (kids included), he would lose his mind any time he’d see a dog while walking on leash. He was always fine at off leash dog parks, but walks were becoming unbearable and forget trying to walk him through a busy neighborhood or take him to a brewery. He never bit any dogs, but his aggressive barking combined with the 65 lbs of muscle he’s packing made me dread walks and grow increasingly anxious anytime I had to take him out. Jessica was a lifesaver! Not only did she help me identify the root of his behaviors, but she gave me all the strategies necessary to help us navigate various situations on our walks. Now, he no longer pulls on the leash, is easier to redirect from other dogs, and thrives on practicing obedience. Fun fact: I never had to worry about trimming his nails because he naturally filed them on the sidewalk with his constant pulling and lunging. However, after working with Jessica, I actually have to trim them myself due to his much improved on-leash behavior! I cannot recommend Finest City Dog Training enough. Jessica’s patience and support made this process so wonderful. We can’t wait to start group classes to continue our work with her.Tuesday 7th November 2023
Marco Hidalgo5 StarI have a one year old Goldendoodle who is hyper and I had a hard time training on myself. I tried those pet stores classes but they were not as successful. As I looked up for something similar to the bootcamp / obedience training experience but at my own place since I didn't want to board my dog for 2 weeks, and then I found Megan and Jessica's website. After reading their reviews, I decided to trust them with my pup and it was best thing I could've done. So I am leaving this review in case anyone is in the same position I was a few months ago where all they have is to trust businesses reviews/references.
We initially met at my place where they met/assessed Dobby and heard my concerns, and so they gave me a customized support on my and my dog's needs. Dobby now is fully potty trained (which it was hard to achieve before!!!), walks beautifully on a leash (it was a nightmare before - we even go to the farmers market now and pet friendly restaurants, something I wouldn't had dreamed with before), they taught/reinforced us general/basic commands and helped me with tips on how to have visitors without my dog jumping into them and/or demanding full attention the whole time, crate and home manners in general.
Review from a thankful/happy/proud dog parent.Wednesday 22nd February 2023
Brian Lee5 StarJessica was a treat to work with! She was attentive, prompt, and obviously great with our dogs. We loved that she took the initiative to help us schedule trainings and worked around our busy schedule.
After a few weeks post training, we are continuing to see improvements in our dogs' behavior. We initially sought training for our dog before having our first baby, and she had great insight into that process.
Finally, we especially loved the training sessions we were able to do at a nearby park. We would work with Jessica again in an instant!Thursday 17th August 2023
